Large silver-plated sculpture of a hunting dog, most likely a Setter or Pointer. Exquisitely detailed, this piece was made by the Jennings Brothers metal foundry of Bridgeport, Connecticut (1892-1953). They produced some of the most finely crafted art metal pieces that exist to this day. Their methods of production required meticulous techniques which did not lend themselves to machine-directed mass production, but rather depended upon the handiwork of expert artists, sculptors and metal craftsman. Signed JB 2591 on the underside. Sean marks present on legs and tail, this is how the dog was made with individual castings soldered together to make one piece. Circa 1910-1920
