    Description

You are bidding on a very rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a Laverack Setter, whch is an early name for a Llewellin English Setter (English Setter with bloodlines tracing back to the breeding program of nineteenth century sportsman R. L. Purcell Llewellin and Edward Laverack).  The dog is named "Trois Quarts de Sang" which translates to "Three Quarts of Blood."
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area is about 8.5 x 5.5 inches (21.5 x 14 cm), with a French caption below and text above it. The text could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print.
See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
