    Description

You are bidding on a very rare original antique print from an 1880s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a beautiful Llewellin Setter, then also known as a Laverack setter. She is named Marmion. The Llewellin Setter is a very specific, pure strain of "English Setter with bloodlines tracing back to the breeding program of nineteenth century sportsmen R. L. Purcell Llewellin and Edward Laverack.
The caption roughly translates to: Marmion, a Llewellin Setter
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area is about
8.5 x 5.5 inches (21.5 x 14 cm), with a French caption below and text above it. The text could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print.
See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
