George Kell was an Hall of Fame third baseman who played 15 seasons in MLB. During his career, George played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles. He was exceptionally difficult to strike out and he had a career batting average of .306. George was a 10-time All-Star and won the A.L. Batting title in 1949. After his playing career ended, George was a broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers for 37 years. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983 and he passed away in 2009 at the age of 86.
