The only drawback I see is the actual track when put together should have set screw as the click in tabs allow for a 1/8” gap that moved during opening and closing. I drilled 2 holes and used screws to secure the track of anymore movement when opening or closing.

RECOMMENDED (SCREW DRIVE & NO WIFI !!) This was a replacement for a +20yr old chain driven opener that finally gave up.Screw drive is sweet! Noticeably quieter and faster than the legacy unit. (7ft Double Door opens in 8secs, and closes in 12secs)Shipping from HD was much faster than anticipated. Instructions are reasonable ; Genie has some good Website and YouTube videos to supplement the paper instructions.Instructions infer 2-4hrs to retro fit this - while I'm reasonably handy, took me longer (even allowing for a couple of "surprises" from whomever installed the legacy opener)So if you are looking for Garage Opener without WiFi, I've no problem recommending this unit.(And I think you can buy an additional WiFi board if you change your mind later - which I will not)

Used it to replace a 24 year old Genie, this one is faster, and quieter. For the homeowner who doesn't do this all the time, the installation was a job, but at 68 years, getting up and down a ladder aint what it used to be, MUCH WORSE. As far as the programming etc., all that stuff is now easier as you would expect. Saved 0 doing it myself, the garage door guys wanted 0. Worth it for two days of putzying, have a buddy over for a beer and some moral support.

The install took a little longer than we thought, but that's because our garage door is extremely heavy and we needed to add extra bracing for the opener. The unit is quiet and opens pretty quickly with a soft slow close just before the pavement. You may want to pick up an additional remote for in the house. This comes with 2 small car remotes, one remote for inside the garage, and an outdoor keypad. Overall we are very satisfied. Would recommend.

When I bought my house (1989) it had a Genie garage door opener. In 2003 I replaced it with a Genie excelerator. In 2020 I have replaced it with the MachForce opener. The openers were still operational when I replaced them.I was concerned by there age. Over the years I have had a few problems but they were all resolved quickly using Genies Tech support (excellent). So far the new opener has met my expectations. We go in and out of the door several (many) times a day. I hope the MaxForce will proform as well as my past openers. The opener is quite and was not hard to install.

I was glad that a second rating review was sent to me cause I have to apologize for my first one that I filled out. Sadly I gave it 1 star and a few words with. I was so frustrated with the Genie Opener that I was about to take it back. It just wouldn't take the programming. I followed the instructions that came with to the "T." I finally decided to take a break and bang it hit me. Go to the Internet and look for the manual. After searching I finally found it, down loaded it, printed out and I was good to go. Followed the "MANUALS" instructions and I was able to program it and it worked just fine. I hope this will help others if they purchase a Genie Machforce Plus. I,m still not giving it a 5 star due to the weak instructions that come with it. Good Luck and God Bless.

I'm very happy with my purchase so far. Delivery came a few days earlier, and in good condition. This was a replacement for my older Genie Excelerator, which I replaced thinking it was defective but it turned out to be an intermittent circuit breaker. Still, I'm happy. It's stronger, quieter, and now I have a keypad on the exterior of the garage door. Though they recommend using the safety sensors that comes in the package I used my existing ones, since they were only about a year old. I actually used all the installed wiring I already had. I did replace the wall pad that goes next to the door in the side of the garage. The only "gotcha" I experienced is that the rail sections must be pushed all the way together, not just pushed till you hear a click. I actually mounted the rail without fully pushing it all the way (see picture), it worked, but when I had to detached the door from the rail mechanism after de-engaging it with the pull cord the elbow and slider came loose and detached as I manually pulled open the door. Since I had about 6 inches of extra rail length, I had to push it in and I had to reposition the motor portion closer to the door, not a huge problem. Yes I will recommend this product. BTW, I'm using 2 cheaper LED bulbs, haven't experienced any remote control range issues.

The opener was shipped to my home and everything was in good condition when it arrived. Assembly was straightforward although I had some problem aligning the screw sections together. I am 71 and did the work by myself with no assistance from anyone else. Since I was replacing a 35 year old Genie opener , the old brackets lined up pretty well for mounting the opener in my garage. No additional programming was needed after the initial system checks were made. The remotes have an excellent range, 200 ft. I really like the opener and would recommend it to anyone.

I had a previous Genie, which had sered me for many years. Until we had power multiple brown outs that were very quick and short, took out something on the pc board. (not the fuse). I opted for the same type, and was able to use the old screw drive with it. So now I have replacement parts, if necessary. I also put a surge proctector into the outlet that services it. I just wish Genie would have included electronic schematics of the PC board, so I could of figured out what failed on the original door closer. .
It is slightly more noisy than I expected but it's worth the money.

Easy to assemble and install. However when it came time to program the remotes, in the instructions say that you need to push remote buttons 2-3 times. After about 45 minutes of trying to figure it out I called the 800 number, and that's when I was told that actually I needed to push remote buttons 5-6 times. Works great, definitely pleased.
