Vtg Royal Sealy Japan Brown Redware Teapot, Creamer & Sugar Bowl Painted Moriage
Up for sale is a very nice, vintage set of ROYAL SEALY / Japan Brown Betty Redware pottery teapot / coffee pot or chocolate pot and matching lidded sugar bowl and creamer.  All pieces have a metallic floral gold transfer design accented with hand painted moriage / textured paint.  The teapot is nearly 6.75" tall to the rim. The sugar bowl has a slotted lid (for a spoon) and is a bit over 3" tall to the rim.  The creamer is nearly 3.25" at its tallest.  All 3 pieces are marked "Japan" on the bottom.  I believe after 1947 most pieces were marked "Made in Japan" so it's very possible this set dates to the 1930s.
Because of the age this set is not perfect. The teapot is missing its lid, some of the gold trim has worn off and a couple of the raised dots of paint are missing. There is a small glaze imperfection on the sugar bowl that came that way when bought. My price reflects the imperfections. All in all this is a nice display piece for your kitchen or other shelf of collectables.
